Shall We Have Another?
The next Writing & Storytelling in Healthcare is tentatively slated for Sunday, December 7. Before making it official, though, I would like to know if there is a critical mass of interest for this event.
The three-hour virtual writing conference would feature:
doctors who write as insightful guest speakers
a group creative writing exercise
feedback on your writing
Please elaborate on your response so I can better understand what you would like or need in a virtual writing conference.
Let me know your thoughts, and watch for an upcoming issue of Healing Ink™ for an update.

Getting Acquainted
It’s my birthday month. Here’s a birthday-related fun fact about me:
My birthplace and my hometown are not one and the same.
I was born in Nashville, Tennessee. My father was finishing up his ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt. When I was still an infant, my parents moved to Morgantown, West Virginia because my mother found a job as a dietician at West Virginia University Hospital. Therefore, I grew up in Morgantown, and it was a wonderful place to be raised.
Having a university at my doorstep, I had a myriad of educational and extracurricular resources at my disposal. Music, theater, sports, languages — all of these experiences enriched my childhood and shaped who I am today. My proclivity and appreciation for the creative is part of why, in my third professional chapter, I’m now an author.
Where did you grow up? How has it influenced you?
If you’re new here, feel free to catch up and get acquainted in my archives:
